ISU Research Park never wanted to hear the words "best kept secret" again. After all, this business community in Ames, Iowa, is made up of more than 50 organizations, many of which are breaking ground in their respective field and making headlines around the world.
Our goal was to put the spotlight on the ISU Research Park as a major player in biotechnology and life sciences ‐ it's the place you need to locate your research initiatives. We updated the Park's brand image to better reflect its proposition as the home for critical thinking and the cutting-edge. Alt Studios also improved the ISU Research Park's online presence so they could be more easily found by various stakeholders – researchers, international corporations, investors, startups, spinoffs, technology and job seekers.
- Established a brand true to the business' core. Designers selected typography, colors and photography that truly represented what it feels like to be at the ISU Research Park.
- Created information portal. Alt Studios wrote and organized website content for usability and search engine optimization (SEO). We built natural channels for visitors to quickly find the information most relevant to them.
- Generated interest by adding value. We leveraged the stories of the Park, and featured first-hand accounts from successful Park tenants in print and online. These were testimonials viewers could relate to. We gave prominence to the job listings on the website – one of the most frequently visited pages – and made it easy to regularly update. The site was built in a CMS to allow Park staff to update content.
- Reached out to targeted audiences. Alt Studios adapted messaging and media to reach out to key prospects, such as Iowa State University alumni and biotech professionals. We produced a wide variety of marketing collateral, including direct mail, brochures, case studies and trade publication ads.
